Rough Saturday

Last Saturday (March 29, 2008), I woke up with very a weak spirit. First, I won't be going home yet until in the afternoon. Second, I can't think of something enjoyable that I can do while waiting for the time to pass. And third, since I'm living with my mom-in-law, my actions are limited. Meaning, I can't go out and take a stroll. Darn! So boring! All because I had to attend an awarding ceremony for passing the CS Eligibility Exam.

Well, I busied myself knitting (yeah, I know how to knit). Lunchtime came. I ate together with my mother-in-law. After eating, I wash the plates then went upstairs to dress, then headed to Civil Service Commission Office in Ecoland. I was 30 minutes early. I signed their logbook, and my number was 19. We waited until 12:45pm, then the roll-call began. When my number was called, they informed me that I won't be getting my certificate and authentication that day. Why? Because of my 1x1 picture. I used Bacus instead of Mamugay. Darn! I passed the requirements early last week!!!

Anyway, I just stayed calm. After some further verifications, they told us to wait in the function hall upstairs. It was already 1:30pm. We waited there, hoping that the orientation will start soon. But we were all appalled when the actual orientation started at 3:30pm. Well, I was really off-scheduled and was pissed off.

While the orientation was in progress, I felt so irate when the speaker was showing us the available eligibilities for applying in a government service. Why so irate? Because of PD 907. This presidential decree is GRANTING CIVIL SERVICE ELIGIBILITY TO COLLEGE HONOR GRADUATES. Because of this law, we honor students can apply the same level of position as those board passers. Get the picture??? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Well, when the second speaker was explaining to us about the presentation, the rain started to pour (SO HARD!!!). The second speaker laughed. "Basta ingon-ana gani nga ulan, ginabaha baya amung lugar diri" (Everytime it rains like that, our place here is being flooded). Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....The entire program finished at 5pm, but we were stuck there until 5:30. Luckily, there were PUJ's that reached the doorway of the building, we were able to ride to SM. From SM, I rode a Boulevard route PUJ.

When I arrived home, my Mother-in-law asked me, "Makakauwi ka pa nyan, Melay?" (Will you still be able to go home, Melay?). What the heck??? Very insensitive question! If she said "Gagabihin ka na nyan" or "Gabi ka na makakarating sa inyo" (You'll be arriving home at nighttime), I could have accepted her statements. But instead of encouraging me, she discouraged me. Not that the two statements were different from her question, but they're the right statements to tell somebody when you don't even know what he/she feels. I just said "Opo, Ma" (Yes, Ma), and hurried upstairs to get my things, then left (hurriedly, too).

I waited at Roxas for a taxi but unfortunately, all taxis were occupied. It started to rain. Knowing that I won't be able to get an available cab, I settled for a PUJ bound for G-mall. It was already 6:15pm. When I arrived, at the Southbound Terminal, the earlier van is about to go, and I was the first passenger for the next trip. Now that is luck!!! Well, our trip left 30 minutes after. It's already night and I'm pissed off. Added to my anger, my sister asked me if I would still eat dinner at home. I replied to her "Tan-aw nimu nikaon na ko? If niingon ko dira ko mukaon, dira ko mukaon. Gusto nimo mabuang ko sa kagutom? Maayo unta kung nilaag ra ko, dili pud baya jud ko gusto madugay ug uli!" (Do you really believe I've already eaten? If I told you I'll eat there, I will eat there. Do you want me to be insane because of hunger? I'm not just strolling here, it's not even my choice to go home this late!) Now that's me half-angry. Then I started to cry.

Well, it's not really my choice to be attending this ceremony. It's not even my choice to take the CS Exam. And it really pissed me off to know that I could actually NOT take that stupid exam. Darn!!!

I got home 9pm. I'm furious and exhausted. Not a good sitch for a preggy. *sigh
But when I saw my son, all the weariness was gone. It's really true that your child can erase all the troubles you've been through that day.

All in all, it was a rough day. *sigh

By the way, I forgot to mention. Among the CS Eligibles, I was the only one with such ratings that wasn't happy about the result! I got 88.33.
